CEO
Susana holds a PhD in Biology and brings over 20 years of executive experience in biotech and life sciences, spanning business development, growth, investment and international expansion. She joined ATLAS as CEO in 2025.
Oscar Millet
CSO
Oscar holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and a degree in Chemical Engineering. He is Group Leader at the Precision Medicine and Metabolism Laboratory at CIC bioGUNE, with deep expertise in NMR-based study of proteins and enzymes.
Joaquín Castilla
CTO
Joaquín holds a PhD in Pharmacy and leads the Prion Laboratory at CIC bioGUNE. His expertise spans prion disease research, preclinical studies and animal models.
Cristina Garrido
COO
Cristina holds a degree in Pharmacy and a master’s in Clinical Trial Monitoring and Management. She has more than 13 years of industry experience across multiple therapeutic areas and leads ATLAS’s operations, with a focus on Phase 1/2 trial execution.
Anna Puigdollers
CFO
Anna holds a degree in Economics and Business Sciences from UPF and an MBA from IESE. She has served as ATLAS’s part-time CFO since 2023 and also advises impact startups on financing and operations.
Luis Ruiz-Avila
Business Development Manager
Luis holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and brings extensive experience as a biotech entrepreneur, investor and advisor. He has helped build biomedical companies, raise over €40 million and close several licensing deals and exits. He joined ATLAS in 2024.

Mireia Pujals
Operations Manager
Mireia holds a PhD in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona and a master’s in Clinical Trial Monitoring. She joined ATLAS in 2024 and oversees trial management and operations.
Hasier Eraña
Project Manager
Hasier holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine. He joined ATLAS in 2017 to lead development of the prion disease pipeline.
Jorge Moreno
Staff Scientist
Jorge holds a PhD in Neuroscience from CIC bioGUNE and leads most of ATLAS’s animal model studies for prion disease.
Alain Ibañez de Opakua
Staff Scientist
Alain holds degrees in Biochemistry and Computer Engineering and a PhD from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). He worked at CIC bioGUNE, DZNE and the Max Planck Institute before joining ATLAS, and combines structural biology with data analysis.
Sarah Kratzwald
PhD Student
Sarah is pursuing her PhD at ATLAS as part of the European Network on the Supramolecular Chemistry of Carbohydrates (ENSCC), with a chemistry and molecular biology background from the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology. Her work focuses on organic synthesis and protein NMR spectroscopy.
Pablo Herrero
Technician
Pablo holds a degree in Biology from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and a Higher Technician Diploma in Laboratory Analysis and Quality Control. He supports ATLAS’s cell culture and protein purification activities, including work in personalized medicine and biosensors.
